How to get to Vitosha
Vitosha is easily accessible by car or bus from Sofia, with several city transport lines going to different places in the mountain.
There is a regular bus line (bus line No 66) starting from Hladilnika quarter to Dragalevtsi quarter, where you can find the lift line reaching Aleko ski center. There is another lift line starting from Simeonovo quarter, very close to the ring road of Sofia. Bus line No 122 from HIadilnika and bus line No 123 from Durvenitsa reach Simeonovo quarter.

However, the best option to get to Aleko ski center is by car. This is how you could visit some remote villages on the southern slopes of Vitosha Mountain, which are less visited but quite interesting to see. Having a car makes it possible to go to other nearby sites and places: Rila Monastery (the biggest monastery in Bulgaria) and the smallest Bulgarian town - Melnik, for example.
